French candlemaker Trudon has history dating back centuries and are the oldest wax-producing factory worldwide. In 1643 Claude Trudon became the owner of a boutique on the rue Saint-Honore where he developed his activity as a grocer and candler. Using beeswax that had been collected, bleached and dried, the candles were created under the motto “Deo regique laborant” meaning “They work for God and the King”. Over the years they have been supplied throughout kingdoms and parishes from Versailles to the imperial court. Today, Trudon are the epitome of high-end candles, crafted with exquisite attention to detail and quality.
